Lemon Spiral Biscuits recipe
Hi Everyone!
This is a simple recipe that i looked at once!
Ingredients:
Makes 40 biscuits
75g(3oz) Icing sugar,
150g(5oz) Butter, softened,
200g(7oz) Plain flour,
1 Lemon,
2 Tablespoons Milk &
Food dye ( I use pink)
1.Grease 2 baking trays.
Using a Sieve, sift the
icing sugar into a large mixing bowl.
Add the butter and mix
it in until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
2.Grate the rind of the Lemon
using the fine holes of the grater.
Add the rind to the mixture.
Sift the flour over the bowl
and stir it in. Add the milk and stir that in too.
3.Put half the mixture into another bowl.
Add three drops of food dye to one of the bowls.
Stir it in until the mixture is completely pink.
4.Squeeze each mixture to make two balls of dough.
Flatten each one a little and wrap in plastic food wrap.
Put them in the fridge for half an hour to chill.
5.Sprinkle flour onto a clean work surface.
Using a clean rolling pin roll out the plain dough
until it is about 25 X 15cm (10 X 6in) and 5mm(1/4 in) thick.
6.Roll out the pink dough until it is about the same size.
Brush the plain dough with a little water.
Carefully lift the pink dough onto the plain dough.
7.Use a sharp knife to make the edges of the dough straight.
Roll up the dough from one of the long sides.
Wrap it in food wrap for half an hour.
8.Heat the oven to 180.c, 350.F,
gas mark 4. Take the dough out of
the fridge.Then cut the dough into 5mm
(1/4in) Slices and put them onto baking trays.
9.Bake the biscuits for 12-15 minuets.
Leave them on the baking trays for two minuets.
Then put them on a wire rack to cool.
10. EAT THEM!!!!!
